SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
About The Ensemble
The BYU Symphony Orchestra is a vibrant and accomplished full symphonic ensemble that occupies a central role in the university’s orchestral offerings. Performing some of the most compelling and diverse works from the orchestral repertoire, the Symphony Orchestra brings together talented student musicians from across campus through a selective audition process held each academic year.
The ensemble presents a broad spectrum of works—from classical and romantic masterpieces to modern compositions. The Symphony Orchestra regularly performs two concert programs per semester in the beautiful concert hall of BYU’s Music Building, and occasionally collaborates with guest soloists, student composers, and other School of Music performers.
Audition Information
The Symphony Orchestra is ideal for students who are committed to artistic growth, regardless of major.
